Website Development
I am amazed when I speak with folks about their experiences in web development and marketing. It can be difficult at times to articulate your desires to antoher person that is working graphically. Just recently, I had correspondence with a client that thought "black" suited his needs for a simple and professional site. When he saw the samples though, he was quite disappointed in the "lack of art expressed" in the site. It's a balancing act to get the impact you are looking for without losing the message of the content.
That's where a relationship with your developer/designer is so important. Share samples of what you like and don't like - then let your designer provide samples that can be further developed in the way you would like your product or service represented.
When I work with clients, I try to put them at ease and mind their wallets while I am working. If there is a "template" that the client would like altered, I am by no means too proud to use it - although the creative part of this process can be the most fun. A lot of clients and web companies are using "Flash" for a home page and that is really cool to have multimedia greet your client, but remember that Flash takes time (which equals money) and that many mobile devices can not display Flash. That means you need to think of the end-user and how they approach and find your site.
So... whether it is from scratch, simple, complex, quiet or loud... Von Ahnen Design & PR has you covered.
